LONGWOOD GARDENS, PA. - rescheduled for September 17, 2011

Due to the very hot weather, our trip to Longwood Gardens is rescheduled for Saturday, September 17, leaving Festival at Riva Shopping Center at 8:00 AM - so grab your cup of coffee and your snack and leave the driving to the Gal.  Returning at 4:30 PM.  Advance tickets are $55 per person.  Trip is almost sold out so don't delay in making your reservation.  You will have a fun-filled day of beautiful gardens, waterfalls, and much more.  Trip includes round trip transportation and entrance to the gardens.  You won't want to miss it!

SEPTEMBER 17 - 2011 LONGWOOD GARDENS

ANNOUNCEMENT : Due to the heat, Longwood Gardens, PA has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 17, leaving at 8:00 AM from Riva at Festival Shopping Center in Annapolis, MD.

TRANSPORTATION : The Gal will handle the driving, so you don't have to! This is the longest trip of the year, at nearly two hours each way. So, if you've never experienced Longwood Gardens because of the long drive, now is your chance!

GARDENS : 
  • Open Air Theatre Fountains
  • Italian Water Garden
  • Eye of Water, Waterfall, and Hillside Garden Flume
  • Outdoor Waterlily Display (accessed via the Conservatory)
  • Sylvan Fountain in Peirce's Park
  • Peirce's Woods Brook and Example Garden Fountain in the Idea Garden
  • Conservatory Indoor Water Features
  • Flower Garden Fountains
LUNCH : Gorgeous gardens, history, shopping, and , of course - LUNCH are in store! Tickets do not include food. So, you'll be able to choose whether you'd like to grab a sandwich from the Gardens Shop, picnic in the gardens, or sit down for a cooling, fresh luncheon at the Terrace restaurant.

TICKETS : Tickets are very limited for this very special trip. The cost is $55 per person and includes round trip transportation and the entrance fee to the gardens. Tickets are non-refundable. Washington National Harbor - Here we come!

Gal on the Move is headed for a fun day of shopping and lunch to the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD on Saturday, August 20, 2011.  Hop aboard for a view of the 700 foot long pier and a chance to watch the boats come in from Alexandria, VA.  Lots of unique boutique shops and great restaurants.  Tickets are $49 per person including round trip transportation, parking and lots of great fun.  Don't forget to bring a friend and book early - seating limited.

Trip to the National Zoo in DC this March!

Gal on the Move is going to the National Zoo in Washington, DC this March!

SATURDAY, MARCH 19, 2011 we'll be departing from the Festival at Riva Shopping Center in Annapolis - 2329 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401- right in front of Caffe Pronto. The trip includes round trip transportation, entrance tickets to the zoo, and a fun-filled day of seeing your favorite animals and welcoming spring! Make a reservation now.



Just a few of the amazing animals we'll be seeing include:

The Amazonia exhibit features a living tropical forest, home to free-ranging animals, and a large aquarium in which dozens of fish species swim.

red panda
Asia Trail
Seven Asian species, including sloth bears, clouded leopards, and red pandas, can be seen in a series of habitats on Asia Trail.


Mexican wolf
Beaver Valley
This wooded area features North American animals, including beavers, river otters, gray seals, California sea lions, Mexican wolves, and bald eagles. This area is temporarily closed for construction.

Bird House
Hundreds of birds, including cranes, herons, ducks, owls, and tanagers, can be seen in indoor and outdoor exhibits at the Bird House. Other birds can be seen in Amazonia.

In this outdoor exhibit, cheetahs and Grevy's zebras (separated by a fence) can be seen in a grassland setting similar to their savanna habitat. Gazelles and other African animals can also be seen here.

The Zoo is building Elephant Trails, an innovative new home for our Asian elephants. Phase One is now open.

The Zoo's giant pandas—Mei Xiang and Tian Tian—live in this state-of-the-art exhibit, designed to mimic the pandas' natural habitat of rocky, lush terrain in China.

Lunch in Annapolis

What a great day to have lunch in Annapolis right on the water in Ego Alley.  Karin, Deb, Rosemarie, The Gal and Kathie had lunch and watched the boats come in and out.  Beautiful weather to get out and enjoy Annapolis!
